Josh Howard is an experienced research and development engineer and innovator with a strong background in medical device product development, research and development, and community-focused STEM education, driven by a passion for turning ideas into reality and making a positive impact.
With a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, Josh brings over 17 years of experience in product development, research, and innovation across diverse fields including medical devices and community education. Currently working as an Advanced Principal R&D Engineer at Boston Scientific, Josh has led the development of cutting-edge technologies in neuromodulation, focusing on spinal cord and deep brain stimulation systems.
Josh has also been a crucial contributor to intellectual property, holding numerous patents for innovative solutions. Previously, Josh led Consensus Orthopedics' wearable medical technology development, overseeing TracPatch, a wearable device aimed at enhancing patient care through monitoring and data collection.
In addition to industry roles, Josh founded the Hope Neighborhood Learning Center, a non-profit dedicated to improving STEM education and literacy for youth. The center provides programming classes, workforce development, and literacy programs, demonstrating a commitment to community growth through innovation and education.
